Deluxe Workshop : Embroidery 101

Want to learn to embroider one-of-a-kind gifts and personalized accessories for you and your home? This workshop will introduce you to the basics of hand embroidery. Instructor Holly Hall will cover everything you need to know to get started, including an overview of materials, design transfer methods, four methods of beginning to stitch, ten basic stitches, and finishing your work. The following supplies are included in the cost of the workshop: practice fabric, hoop, needle, embroidery floss, booklet with stitch diagrams and tips, tea towel with design to stitch. Students will need to bring a small pair of scissors and will leave with their first project in progress.

Holly is a lifelong artist, crafter, and collector working in many different mediums. She first began embroidering at the age of seven, and is the keeper of an ever-growing collection of vintage embroidery transfers. You can read about her adventures in vintage living at http://www.sweetheartville.com.
